This Year's Model Updates:

Only minor changes are in store for the Miata this year. Base models receive standard 16-inch alloy wheels, a strut-tower brace, larger brakes and a child seat anchoring system. Cloth replaces vinyl on the top of the LS model, and tan leather gives way to a lighter parchment-colored hide. Also, the LS receives aluminum-colored interior trim and, for the first time, black leather is available as an option. New options include a cargo net, an auto-dimming mirror with an integrated compass and outside temperature display and special bezels for the headlights and taillights.

Pros:
  • Tremendous fun to drive, excellent steering and handling, glass rear window with defogger.
Cons:
  • Small trunk, drones during freeway trips, tight cabin.

This is an awesome car. Its not a drag racer but it excels at fun in the twisty bits.

My car is a 2000 EO I just love it. It has enought power when you need, a can move out of the way. There is plenty of trunk room for a 2 week vacation full of stuff.

Will always have a least 1 convertible in my driveway thanks to Mazda.Car is everything a roadster should be.Price makes it a clear choice over any sports car on the road today.

Being an owner of a very powerful and fast, very low mileage Nissan 300ZXtt, I can tell you with certainty that the Miata Shinsen is just as much fun. I also own a WRX, and the Mazda is more fun (though obviously less practical)

My wife told me it was my time to get the new car, and we have both wanted a Miata since its inception. Absolutely the best car I have ever owned. FUN, FUN, FUN. Went on vacation to the Grand Canyon from Texas (top down almost all the way), got 30 mpg on the average, and that is at 75 most of the time on the highways. But, the best part was the great view from having the top down and the wind in our hair. I drove the whole way and did not get to where I was uncomfortable at all, (511- 180). Have had zero problems and dont expect any.

I have always owned a family automobile until now , after the four children moved out,I bought the 2003 Mazda Miata Mx-5 LS and now I fight with my wife to drive it.I drove it from Texas to New York all alone and loved every minute.

This is my 2nd Miata. I leased a 1999 Miata and fell in love, only to buy a Shinsen version. Having a small car allows me to park anywhere. The Shinsen version also gives a shaper appearance and a better ride. The car puts me in a great mood all the time.
